Dead Wastes

The land is covered in mist. Black sands are blown by the wind exposing forgotten structures and abandoned stone. Petrified forests long turned to rock provide a haven for those who once dwelled in forests and find some solace in the memories of home.
Here the dead reside until they either return to life or pass on forever. The dead here cling to the land either for a reason or waiting for another to join them before going to sleep. Some souls are merely lost and do not know how to rest.
The living may come here, but there is no living thing to eat.
